Captain Nezumi arrives with Marines and searches Nami's home, claiming that her hidden money was stolen property. Nami realizes that Arlong told him exactly where to find the one hundred million berries she spent eight years collecting. She attacks the Marines but is restrained as they dig up the treasure from Bellemere's grove. Nezumi takes it for himself, leaving Nami unable to buy the village despite fulfilling her side of the agreement. Arlong smugly insists that he never personally broke his promise and can simply wait while she starts again. The villagers reveal that they always knew why Nami joined him. No longer willing to watch her suffer, they arm themselves and march toward Arlong Park even though they expect to die. Nami tries to stop them, then collapses and repeatedly stabs the fish-man tattoo on her shoulder. Luffy quietly prevents her from hurting herself. When she finally asks him for help, he places his treasured straw hat on her head and answers with absolute certainty. Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp walk together toward Arlong Park. Their arrival transforms Nami's private despair into an open declaration of war against the fish-men.
