Don Krieg arrives at Baratie with Gin, appearing exhausted and nearly starved after his fleet's disaster in the Grand Line. He begs for food and claims that his surviving men will leave peacefully if the cooks help them. Most of the staff distrust him, but Sanji gives Krieg a meal because he refuses to let anyone die from hunger. Once his strength returns, Krieg attacks Sanji and announces that he intends to seize Baratie as a replacement ship. Krieg demands Zeff's old voyage log, believing it contains the knowledge needed to conquer the dangerous sea. Patty fires Baratie's cannon, but Krieg reveals heavy armor and hidden weapons. His surviving pirates begin gathering outside, desperate for food and revenge.
