Luffy recovers from his battle with Krieg and prepares to follow Nami, but he refuses to leave without Sanji. Zeff and the Baratie cooks increase their efforts to drive Sanji away, criticizing his meals and pretending that his presence causes trouble. Sanji responds angrily, yet understands that they are trying to free him from his sense of debt. When he overhears the cooks praising him privately, he finally accepts that the restaurant can survive without him. Luffy invites him once more, and Sanji agrees to join the crew and search for the All Blue. Before departing, he attempts a casual farewell, but Zeff tells him not to catch cold. The simple kindness breaks Sanji's composure. He kneels, thanks Zeff for everything, and cries openly while the cooks also weep and shout goodbye. Sanji boards a small boat with Luffy, Zoro, and Usopp, bringing supplies for the pursuit of the Going Merry. Zeff watches from Baratie as his adopted son sails toward the dream they share.
