The defenders launch simultaneous assaults on all four towers. Priscilla and Liliana head for Sirius, Garfiel and Wilhelm engage Kurgan and Theresia, Julius and Ricardo confront Roy, and Otto encounters Lye while searching for the Tome fragments. At the church, Regulus threatens his wives to restrain Subaru and Reinhard, then chokes Emilia until Reinhard surrenders. Regulus kills the Sword Saint, but Reinhard revives through a Divine Protection and resumes the fight. Subaru and Emilia try to evacuate the numbered wives, yet terror of Regulus prevents them from moving. They instead observe the battle, searching for the mechanism behind his invulnerability. Otto learns that two Gluttony Archbishops are active and distracts Lye after the Archbishop expresses interest in Subaru. Julius and Ricardo struggle against Roy elsewhere. Garfiel and Kurgan are swallowed by a mass of flesh created by Capella, while the real Archbishop targets Crusch and Felix. Every battlefield exposes a different Authority or resurrected legend. The plan has stopped the cult from acting freely, but none of the heroes has yet secured a decisive victory, and Regulus’s ability appears to violate ordinary time, damage, and even death.
