Beatrice holds off Lye with Al’s magic stones, but has few major spells without Subaru. Felt arrives carrying Echidna’s staff, the weapon her group sought. Beatrice activates the staff and critically injures him, but Louise Arneb, a third Sin Archbishop of Gluttony, appears and forces the defenders to let the siblings escape. Subaru immediately understands that Roy has eaten Julius’s name, leaving the knight remembered only by Subaru. The season closes by replacing battlefield victory with another intimate erasure that Return by Death cannot simply undo.
