After Luffy's attack scattered his body, Buggy survives as a miniature version of himself with only his hands, feet, and head attached. Separated from his crew, he begins a humiliating journey across the sea while pursuing revenge against the Straw Hat captain. Buggy attempts to steal a boat, is chased by strange animals, and briefly becomes the captive plaything of a giant bird. On an island of unusual creatures, he encounters Gaimon, who refuses to help him harm Luffy but shares food and conversation. Buggy's reduced size repeatedly turns his threats into comedy, yet his determination to recover his body remains strong. Meanwhile, Mohji and Cabaji argue over who should replace their missing captain.
