Subaru and Beatrice formalize a spirit contract and join Emilia against the Great Rabbit. Subaru draws the swarm into one place, Emilia freezes its movement, and Beatrice uses Al Shamac to banish every rabbit into an isolated dimension, defeating a Great Mabeast without leaving survivors to reproduce. The Sanctuary is liberated. At Echidna’s grave, Beatrice confronts Roswaal, who reveals that he preserved his identity for centuries by transferring his soul into successive descendants. The group then forces Roswaal to answer for his manipulation; several companions punch him, and the wager manifests as an oath that will kill him if he betrays them. Roswaal admits that he still seeks Echidna’s resurrection and warns that if Subaru loses someone important, he will destroy the remaining pieces and force another reset. Subaru nevertheless accepts the future without a Tome. On the balcony, Emilia and Subaru promise to believe in one another before returning to dance with their friends beneath the moon.
