Elsa arrives at the loot house and attacks before Subaru can safely resolve the exchange. The silver-haired girl and Puck defend everyone with ice magic, while Subaru uses his previous deaths to anticipate Elsa’s movements and warn the others. Nightfall weakens Puck and forces him back into his crystal, leaving the half-elf increasingly exhausted. Rom is gravely wounded and Felt escapes to seek help. Reinhard soon enters, identifies himself as the Sword Saint, and overwhelms Elsa with an immense magical strike. Elsa survives the blast, however, and launches a final surprise attack at the half-elf. Subaru intercepts the blade with Rom’s club and protects her, although Elsa’s slash opens his abdomen. Before he loses consciousness, the girl finally reveals that her true name is Emilia. Felt returns the stolen insignia, and Emilia heals Rom while tending to Subaru. Reinhard notices the insignia reacting in Felt’s hand and takes the thief into custody for reasons beyond her crime. He warns Emilia that her peaceful routine is ending, hinting that both women are connected to the approaching royal selection.
