Subaru rushes to the tower before Sirius’s performance and tries to save Lusbel, only to learn that his friend Tina is also being held. Sirius overwhelms him and kills him, proving that foreknowledge alone cannot overcome her Authority. In the next loop, Subaru summons Reinhard. The Sword Saint destroys Sirius instantly, but everyone connected to her dies from identical wounds, including Subaru. Returning again, Subaru privately tells Beatrice about the danger. They conclude that Sirius spreads emotions and damage among those affected, making brute force disastrous. Emilia notices their secretive behavior and insists on joining despite Subaru’s fear of losing her. The three confront Sirius while Subaru and Beatrice work to free Lusbel and Tina. Sirius becomes enraged by Emilia’s resemblance to the Witch and battles her with chains and fire. Using Tina as leverage, she appears to burn Emilia alive, but another Archbishop interrupts. Regulus Corneas, Greed, protects the unconscious Emilia only because he has decided she should become his seventy-ninth wife. Subaru has prevented the mass death but loses Emilia to an enemy whose invulnerability and possessive logic are already familiar from the Sanctuary’s recovered memories.
