He rescues her from a wolgarm, but a whole pack surrounds him under the puppy’s control. Rem arrives and cuts a path toward safety, revealing extraordinary combat power. As the mabeasts overwhelm them, her single horn emerges and she enters an uncontrollable oni state. Subaru refuses to abandon her despite knowing she once killed him. When a beast prepares to strike Rem from behind, he places himself between them, choosing courage and trust over self-preservation.
